At the U13 level, development is about building the right habits, strengthening core skills and giving players the confidence to use those skills in game situations.

Vigier Hockey’s Spring U13 Development Program is designed for male and female players who are ready to take the next step in their game. The focus will be on developing strong skating mechanics, puck skills, shooting, passing and hockey awareness in a positive, competitive environment.

Players will be challenged to improve not only how they perform individual skills, but how they use those skills with greater speed, control and confidence.

At U13, repetition is important, but so is learning how to apply skills in a game environment. Small-area games and competitive drills will give players more puck touches, more decisions and more opportunities to develop their hockey instincts.

The goal is to help each player become more comfortable with the puck, more efficient in their movement and more confident making plays — while continuing to build the foundation they will rely on as the game becomes faster and more demanding.

4-on-4 Development Games
We’ve added two 4-on-4 game days to give players an opportunity to take the skills developed in training and use them in live game situations.

4-on-4 hockey creates more puck touches, more open ice and more opportunities to make plays, encouraging creativity, puck possession and quick decision-making.

Goaltending Development
This spring, Vigier Hockey is pleased to collaborate with Tailor Goaltending, bringing in their expert on-ice instructors to further develop and strengthen the technical side of the goaltending position.
